List of First Lead Trainings

Trainings scheduled and posted on this website:

Wilderness First Responder (9 days, 76 hours, $695.) The "flagship" training of wilderness medicine, WFR is the "Gold Standard" for the outdoor industry. Train to think as a medic, then acquire a practical, principle-driven order of skills for assessing and treating your patients: to include developing a working command of the Patient Assessment System, bare-handed life-saving interventions, wound care, spine assessment, the acute abdomen, kit-building, and much more. Realistic scenarios.

Wilderness First Aid, & Wilderness First Responder Recertification (3 days, 24 hours, $295.) For people who want the "best" of Wilderness First Responder, in a short investment of time, WFA "bridges the gap" between those one-day First Aid classes and nine-day WFR. As a result, these three days are intense! Edited and focused into a compact experience of getting the most, in one-third the time invested. This training recertifies WFR grads every three years - and, to re-sharpen their assessment tools. First Lead conducts many other trainings which aren't regularly posted on the website schedule. These contract trainings are customized to clients' needs:

WILDMEDTAC-I (5 or 9 days) For Operator instructors and trainers: Wilderness First Responder skills for keeping students in the field and in The Game!

WILDMEDTAC-II (9 days) Wilderness First Responder training in skills for the downed aviator in unfriendly environments.

"Hard Hat Medic" (one-day): managing small wounds well on the jobsite means less days lost, and proper assessing means better judgment calls for transport, and for immediate action, when indicated.. Good training is just smart risk management.

"Blood and Guts" --First Aid for Kids. (1 - 3 days, or half-days) Peter says, "If all kids share one thing in common, it's relative powerlessness in an adult world." Watch kids grow in stature as they step into this formerly "adult world" of first aid, and learn to better care for others. Called, "transformational!" by parents.

"Disaster! -Training to Be the Family Medic" (5 days): We all now know that the "unthinkable" can happen. Being sick or injured in a crisis could be catastrophic. This training lays your foundation as a skilled medic, and details a strategy for preparation that you can build upon, one step at a time. Helping family...and each other, this will give you the confidence, and peace of mind to "be the family medic".

The Executive Medic. (1 day). For CEOs and other corporate personnel working abroad in high-threat environments: to deal with injuries in dangerous situations.

Festival and Special Event First Aid (one-day): A workshop on how to collect and organize the assets to provide first aid services that are appropriate to your event: the right skills, shelter, equipment, supplies, and back-up links needed for effective and comprehensive medical presence.

Assisted Living Caregivers' First Aid (1 day): Learn quick but thorough and effective assessing skill for possible other injuries, plus good wound management skills, for skin tears, abrasions, and others.

Ask about other training, which can be crafted to your organization's needs.
